Lets close this year with another spontaneous release guys. 'Agbogbloshie' is a dance performance by German / Costa Rican artist Bernardo San Rafael, telling about the strongest human beings on earth - Agbogbloshie is the electronic landfill of Europe. It is situated in Ghana, Africa. And in your home.
I had the big honor to contribute the music and perform live with the dancers. The two shows took place in the Kulturkirche St. Jakobi, Stralsund, Germany on December 21st and 22nd; the album is a recording taken on December 22nd; you can watch the entire performance in the embedded video.
Read more about the project in this blogpost.
The proceeds from this release, together with the donations that we collected from the performances of December 21 and 22, will be given 100% to the residents of Agbogbloshie as part of the further continuation of the project.
Download the album on my Bandcamp or get it right here from my discography.
Looking forward towards 2023
I would like to take this opportunity to thank you guys for the past 12 months. Looking back, 59 Perlen has taken a completely new direction, one that is very deliberately "live" and one that I've been working towards for years. Now the moment seems to have come that my work begins to bear fruit and you will be able to see me live very often in the future.
Supported by the NATIONALE PERFORMANCE NETZ - STEPPING OUT, funded by the Federal Government Commissioner for Culture and the Media as part of the initiative NEUSTART KULTUR. Hilfsprogramm Tanz.
