From Scroll to Sound: Changing the Way I Connect on Social Media!

Good morning my dear fans and fellas,

we have been out for a beautiful walk to the Zuriberg last weekend. Nice clear weather and the view up there is really amazing! I jjust wanted to share this little impression with you guys.

I also want to share some changes in the way I interact with the community and how I use social media in general in the future.

Up until now, I have primarily shared my content on platforms from Meta with you - namely Instagram. Unfortunately, this company, like many others, is developing in a direction that I no longer want to support.

I have therefore decided to share my journey and music mainly here on my website in the future. You can find a post that I recently published on Instagram about this topic, it received a lot of positive reactions, I attached the images below.

Regular Digest from now on

In addition to my community which is more like a microblogging platform, I also run this blog (which I lastly didn't use a lot) as a place to share longer articels and I occasionally send out newsletters as well.

When I publish a new community post, a blog post or when I send out a newsletter, you have previously received an email notification. But since I will be posting more here in the future, some people might be annoyed by the many emails they receive.

Therefore, from now on I will only send out summaries with links to new content in my channels rather dedicated mails for each single publication. In addition to community posts, that also includes new videos and blog posts. I'm still thinking about the frequency at the moment, I'll probably send it once a week.

That said, I will mostly share stuff in my community section as it offers more features to quickly share audio, video, polls and other formats in a very easy way (compared to the blog). The blog itself will be used for longer articles like how-to and instructive posts, I'm currently working on a new structure for it.

Sharing other artists pages

I am not the only person who no longer wants to feet the business of Zuckerberg and his ilk for free. There are many artists who are also turning away and setting up their own websites. I will add a new section in my newsletter and will regularly present a website from friended artists.

New: join me on BlueSky

I admit that I was never really active on Twitter back then, but I still had an account because many artists prefer to communicate on this channel rather than Facebook or Instagram. However, I will likely replace it with my new BlueSky profile.

This decentralized platform may have the potential to reach a larger audience in the future, which I will actually not have on my website. So I have set up a profile there as a precaution and will occasionally add content to it. You can find me at 59perlen.bsky.social.

Will I leave social media?

First and foremost, I want to build my own channels and use them as a backup. I will still be on Instagram for now, but it feels good not to be completely dependent on it anymore.

So let me know what you think - what is your opinion on this matter? Will you change your behavior on social media due to recent developments? Let me know.

Have a lovely day xxx

Mat
