Once a year, its time to celebrate "Sonic Playground" with the Petite Victory Collective Community. This year was the 3rd edition and what can I say, it's getting better and better every year. It was a blast to meet all those friendly and lovely artists, connect to new faces and have a good time together. I'm still absorbing the energy from this unforgettable weekend with the entire PVC family. Welcoming the community and friends from across Europe, the USA, and Canada made this gathering in Copenhagen truly special.
These events go far beyond music; they’re a celebration of connection, creativity, and shared experiences, reminding us of the joy of friendship and collaboration. So many unforgettable moments with such a passionate and dedicated team.
This year, I was thrilled to host a little hands-on workshop about Dawless music creation before we premiered "The Maze", a new installation with Bernardo San Rafael. After we finished, our lovely host Carsten aka 'Under Red Sky' presented an excellent linup of artists featuring Songs from Tin Pan Alley x Second Sun (DK), Miles Kvndra (DE), Sholinger (DE), Atlas Castle x ITEM (DK) and Wilk Kick x Borenstein x Yukio Bergholdt (DK). From ambient and modular explorations to minimal and fast techno - it was a night full of hardware and synth action, making each moment as electrifying as the next.
The Maze - Contemporary Performance
My personal highlight has been - of course - the premiere of 'The Maze'! The 45 min performance was devided in 5 different sections aka tracks that I played on my newly build portable setup feat. Elektron Digitakt, Roland Aira S-1 and P-6, Strymon Big Sky and The Pill Pedal.
«'The Maze' is a dance and sound performance with installations based on the greek mythology saga of the Minotaur. Half human and half animal we focused on his feelings, fears, desires for freedom and the right to be respected. The labyrinth becomes a symbol of internal conflict and the hope to find the exit into a better life ».
The contemporary performance received very good feedbacks since the sound design was pretty much out of 59 Perlen's comfort zone with dark, industrial and distroyed sound scapes.
Wanna see the installation live? The show will be performed again on February 22 2025 during my event 'SP Sessions: Electronic Live Acts' in Zurich.
The Maze - Full Performance Video
Enjoy the video of our installation Unfortunetely, the footage is not good and you don´t see much from Bernardo´s part. I hope we can manage to record a better take soon,
