  • New Digitakt Dub Techno Jam: "In My Pockets"

My recent Synthjams with the Digitakt have mostly been "Minimal" influenced. While I think, this new jam got minimalistic as well, it's also pretty danceable and comes with some sweet and dark techno flavors. Driven by a nice Peak generated chord stab, the track features a nice background texture as well. Let me know what you think in the comments guys!

  • The Digitakt Challenge: a Minimal House track with only one sample [Free Download]

Have you ever made a complete track with only 1 sound? I did! Even it's quite challenging, but this week's Wednesday studio session was exactly about that! I made a Digitakt track entirely with one single sample! The sound was a recording of some pigeons and all the track elements are based on that, even the synths. Thanks to some tips of my cool guys who have been with me in the live chat of the session (shout to Maik, Andreas, Jasper, interference fringes, ObscurSounds and Liam), the track got pretty sweet - kinda experimental style for 59 Perlen, but still, I love it. Some said it sounds like "being at a horror dentist" 🤣😂 Download the Digitakt Dawless track for free I made a beautiful artwork for this inspiring track, showing some - well - pigeons! You can download it now for free in the music section of my website. Enjoy and let me know what you think below 🥳 I would also love to see other producers joining this challenge, it get's you very creative. Are you in?

  • A new Digitakt Dubhouse Performance

Like every Saturday, I have uploaded a new YouTube video for you guys! During the last Live Session, one or the other of you already heard today's track - this week, we go deep down into the dub basement! Non of the usual textures, but really cool stabs and a sweet groove are waiting for you. The goal for this pattern was to work with multiple bass layers and create tracks with separated layers of PLocked sounds. Just check out the studio session, I talked about the individual tracks in detail (like a track breakdown). By the way, the background visuals are made with Staella, a nice vizualizer App for iOS. • New Microhouse Digitakt Jam

Moin from Stralsund in Germany, my friends :) The last few jams have been mostly about Squarp's Pyramid, but since I'm not at home this week, you'll have to make do with a pure Digitakt Jam again :D I use the Digitakt Midi Loopback feature very intensively to modulate several parameters. I also use a sound I recorded at a weekly market ("29 Franks") - I created a soundstretch with LFOs to it 🎛 Do you like the pattern? Let me know in the comments :) Learn to create Digitakt Minimalhouse tracks on your own! Have a look on my Digitakt Online Class! It's a video course focussed on creating tracks with the Digitakt. • Tips for Digitakt patterns with more than 8 audio tracks

The Digitakt is a great device, no quesion: in a compact housing, it offers an insane number of possibilities for bringing repetitive music to life. But at the same time, there are some limitations, of course. And one of them is what this article is about, namely the limitation to 8 audio tracks. And these are quickly filled! My patterns have usually drums sorted on track 1-3, chords on track 4, bass on track 5, and tracks 6-8 are reserved for textures and melodies. I quickly reach the limits and often seek for additional tracks to make the arrangement more complex. Additional tracks with the Model:Samples? I recently bought the Model:Samples to solve this. It works great and expands the 8 tracks of the Digitakt by adding 6 more audiotracks, which I mainly use for drum programming. But what if I don't feel like wiring and only want to go with the Digitakt? For this case, I have developed a few tricks that I would like to share with you! Play different instruments on 1 Digitakt Track more granular You can fade in and out more granularly, for example, several instruments running on one track, by using conditional triggers. Assume you have the snare on a track and decorate the triggers between the snares with a few clicks. Program these as Conditional Triggs. If you now lower the volume of the track on the "AMP" page, it will only apply to the snare sound of the track. The other sounds that you programmed with the conditions continue to run at their normal volume. This allows you to play the clicks first and then slowly fade in the snare. It appears as there are 2 separate tracks running, but it is only 1. Add higher frequencies by adding Bit Reduction Another trick is to give a track that plays in the lower or middle frequency spectrum some additional high frequencies with the help of Bit Reduction. I often use this to create textures. For example, maximize the send reverb settings (long decay time) of the track and make a looped pad sound that's running with a high send reverb and a slightly increased bit reduction rate. The bit reduction is now modulated with the help of the LFO. Take the random waveform, relatively fast speed and medium depth (depending on the sound more in the middle range). The sounds that are now repeatedly played briefly echo for a very long time and thus create a second layer above the actual pad sound in the mid frequency, so to speak. You can learn more about this technique in my video tutorial about Digitakt Textures. I hope to bring some variety back into your tracks with these two tricks! Let me know if you have any questions - just post them in the comments below! Learn something new! My Digitakt Online Class is a video course focussed on creating tracks with the Digitakt. • Digitakt Minimal House Synthjam using Midi Loopback

Hi! As every Thursday, here‘s a new Digitakt Synthjam, created using the Midi Loopback feature of the device. The Track follows the style of my previous patterns - but was originally completely different: Tonite happened what I discussed some days ago in the comments of one of my breakdown videos: I had a super sweet new Digitakt pattern created for this post, and suddenly i pressed a stupid key combination by coincidence - and baaaaam, all gone. So, 1,5 hours of wasted time. Bummer. Well, I still got something done :) I hope you like it, let me know what you think in the comments guys.

  • Dawless Minimal Synthjam with Digitakt, Digitone and Big Sky Reverb

Some days ago, I posted a video about my creation process of making textures and drone sounds on the Digitakt. The sounds in this tutorial have been created "on the fly" and I got some really cool results which are the base of this Jam. I added a Digitone which is running through the Big Sky Reverb, adding a sweet layer of ambience to the groove. Let me know what you think in the comments!
